Board of Directors

Daisy N. Meyer,

President

Daisy Neshoma Meyer is from San Francisco and has been a part of the Junior League of Palm Springs Desert Communities since 2016. She enjoys being an active contributor and supporter of the Junior League because of her alignment with the mission. She is dedicated to improving our local community through connecting available resources directly to those who need them.

In a world where so many wonder if there will be enough, Daisy is committed to transforming the idea of scarcity to surplus. For some, that is a surplus of resources in the form of finances, supplies, clothing, food or equipment, for others, it is a surplus of time, perhaps an hour or two a week maybe more to volunteer with a organization and have a direct impact on youth and parents in our area. For others, they have love and attention to give to someone perhaps outside of their family or circle of close friends. Whatever that abundance and surplus is for you, it is a valuable commodity that contributes to the

well being of others.

Passionate about improving the community, Daisy focuses her attention on further development of Kids in the Kitchen and the Day of Empowerment programs. These programs provide skills training and development for children, teenagers and parents in the areas of health and nutrition, presence which is nurtured through mindfulness and gratitude practice, personal development focused on life coaching for sustainable and gratifying living, fitness and many other essential life skills.

Erin Hyland,

Vice President Communications & Past President

Meet Erin, our 2019-2020 Vice President of Communications. Born and raised in the desert, she's had a passion for volunteering since birth, instilled by her parents. Growing up raising and training puppies for Guide Dogs of the Desert, she learned early on that "life gives to the givers!" Erin continued her service by working with the blind at Delta Gamma SDSU, and in leadership roles as Panhellenic President and as an Ambassador at San Diego State University

Past President of the Board for our Junior League, she's been an incredibly active member for 10 years. Between her service here with both The League and other Boards, Erin has happily volunteered with many desert charities including: The Warburton for St Jude's Children Research Hospital, Martha's Village, Hacienda Valdez, The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, multiple Boys & Girls Clubs, Safehouse of the Desert, Harrison House, FIND Food Bank, ABC Recovery Center, Desert Cancer Foundation, Adopt-A-Family, and more.

When not out in the community, you can find this social butterfly feeding her Wanderlust: traveling for both work and play, and an aficionado of music festivals, yoga, hiking, and Pilates. In Erin's role as Marketing Manager at Cord Media she loves the networking and charitable sides of her job. Her 2020 goals are to put more stamps on her passport & if you ever want to catch a workout, invite her!

Lanay Berry,

Assistant Finance Chair

Meet Lanay Berry, our assistant to Finance Chair. The heart of a giver with the mind of a business woman, she's an asset to our Board of Directors and our #2020vision.

Lanay is an aspiring philanthropist and co-founder/Vice President of Caritas Realty, Inc. Lanay is a Palm Springs Native, and graduate of California State University, Long Beach where she obtained a BA in Economics. She began her college career at San Francisco State University where she played NCAA Division II girls soccer.

Her devotion and unparalleled customer service has resulted from hard work and her commitment to the Lord. She can say that her largest passion at the moment is being newly married to her husband and business partner, Justin Berry, alongside the success of their philanthropic real estate company.

Whether outside hiking, practicing yoga or playing soccer, in her free time, you can find Lanay taking part in healthy competition. An avid explorer, she loves to try new restaurants, food and wine, and check out local music and festivals. Say hi to Lanay, tag her & ask any questions below!

Kristy Giraud,

Vice President Membership & Past President

Get to know our awesome Kristy Giraud: a busy Super-Mom who never apologizes for her time spent volunteering, as she sees it as modeling great values & behaviors for her son.

This easy-going lady left the desert after graduation and attended UCLA, go Bruins! Kristy is an experienced and devoted Special Education teacher, and Mom to James who is 5 and started Kindergarten this year (#proudmom
When not busy working hard and loving on her son, you can find Kristy experiencing live music: she's been attending concerts with her super close-knot family since before she could walk. She loves traveling the world and is now getting the opportunity to show her son the world and help him develop a love of travel.

What's Kristy's 2020 goal?
"To get to all 50 states by the time I am 50!"

We love Kristy, her passion to serve, how hard she works as a single mom, and the incredible role model she is to James, her students, and her community and friends.

Kailah Rose, Secretary and Finance Chair

Here's a little Q & A with Kailah, back for her second office, and third year on the Board! We're so grateful to have Kailah's energy and perspective on our Board of Directors.

Where are you from?

Born in Palm Springs, Kailah lived in San Diego for twenty-five years before deciding to live in Palm Desert. She has travelled to forty out of fifty states.

Why Junior League?

Seeking like-minded women and a focus on building community, Kailah joined the Junior League because the group holds the continued promise of growth. Attracted by the focus on the education and empowerment of women, she decided to join to user her current skills and to build new ones.

How long with the Junior League?

Urged by a friend, Kailah joined the JL as a Provisional the 2016 - 2017 year. One Provisional year. Two years as Treasurer. Currently Secretary. Financial literacy workshop leader for Day of Empowerment 2017, 2018, & 2019.

When asked about her passions, Kailah speaks about

increasing literacy throughout the Coachella Valley, leaving things better than she finds them, and wellness. She has run three half marathons, with plans to run one in all fifty states.
